Welcome to Occasional Care

Our Occasional Care program provides a safe, caring and engaging environment where children aged 2 to 5 years can learn, play and build confidence while families have time to attend appointments, study, work or simply enjoy a well-earned break.

Children become part of our preschool community, participating in high-quality play-based learning alongside experienced educators in a nurturing environment designed to support each child’s wellbeing, curiosity and development.

Occasional Care is also a wonderful stepping stone into Preschool, helping children become familiar with our educators, routines and learning spaces before they begin their preschool journey.

A Gentle Transition to Preschool

Occasional Care provides children with valuable opportunities to become comfortable separating from parents and carers while developing confidence in a familiar environment.

Because the program operates within our preschool, children become familiar with the educators, routines and learning spaces, making the transition into Preschool a positive and confident experience.

Children enjoy a rich variety of play-based experiences including dramatic play, construction, music, fine and gross motor skills, literacy, nature play, story time, outdoor learning, sensory play and art.

Learning is guided by children’s interests and supported through the Early Years Learning Framework.

As part of Cambrai Primary School & Preschool, children benefit from our strong community connections and beautiful rural setting.
