Community Pool

More Than a Swimming Pool

The Cambrai Community Pool is much more than a place to cool off on a hot summer day.

Located opposite Cambrai Primary School and Preschool, the pool is a vital community hub where children, families and community members come together to connect, exercise, learn important water safety skills and enjoy the best of country life.

For generations, the pool has been at the heart of summer in Cambrai, creating lifelong memories while supporting health, wellbeing and community connection.

Supporting Learning and Water Safety

As a rural community located close to the Murray River, developing strong swimming and water safety skills is incredibly important.

The pool plays a key role in our school’s learning program, providing opportunities for:

  • Swimming lessons
  • Water safety education
  • Lunchtime swimming during hot weather
  • Inter-school Splash Dash swimming carnivals
  • Physical education and fitness activities

Students have regular opportunities to build confidence in and around water while developing skills that may one day save lives.

A Hub for Community Connection

The pool is one of the few places where people of all ages can come together during the summer months.

Families gather for a swim, children meet friends, sporting groups cool off after training and visitors discover one of the Mid Murray’s hidden gems.

The facility includes:

  • A 25 metre swimming pool
  • Toddler splash pool
  • Shaded seating areas
  • BBQ facilities
  • Large grassed areas for recreation and relaxation

Health, Wellbeing and Belonging

The Cambrai Community Pool contributes significantly to the health and wellbeing of our community.

Whether it’s swimming laps, learning water confidence, enjoying time with family or simply escaping the summer heat, the pool helps create opportunities for people to stay active, connected and healthy.

At Cambrai, we believe strong communities are built through shared experiences, and the pool is one of the places where those connections happen every day throughout summer.
